Freezer to Crockpot Dump Recipes

These recipes are referred to as dump recipes because you dump all the ingredients into a gallon sized freezer bag and store as a freezer meal, then you thaw the bag and dump the ingredients into a crockpot (or on a pan for baking or grilling) to cook.

These are quick go to recipes.  At my neighborhood store I will often find big bags of chicken drumsticks marked down because they are approaching their expiration date. They are still good if I can get them into the freezer asap, so these dump recipes are perfect for that.  Also worth picking up a  extra bag of boneless skinless chicken breasts each time you shop and make one freezer dump chicken to slowly build up your freezer inventory.

Here are a few of my favorites.  I will start with 2 that are not for chicken and then go to the chicken ones. (although all the recipes would be great with any of meat really.)

Dump Pineapple Kielbasa
2 lb.s Kielbasa
1 can chunk pineapple, save 3/4 cup juice and blend 2 tsp. cornstarch into the juice and set aside.
1 can mandarin orange segments, drained

Directions: Cut the kielbasa into 1 inch slices and set aside in a large saucepan.  Pour the pineapple chunks and the mandarin orange segments over the kielbasa.

In another saucepan:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1 tsp. salt
4tsp. ketchup
Bring to a simmer add the pineapple juice/cornstarch mixture.  Bring to a full boil.  Pour the sauce over the kielbasa and simmer for 15-20 minutes.  Can either serve immediately over rice or cool and pour into a gallon size freezer bag. seal and label. Store laying flat in freezer.

To Make Dinner from the freezer meal: Thaw bag in fridge overnight. Pour contents of bag into crockpot and heat on warm for 6-8 hours or on low for 3-4 hours. Serve over rice.

Dump Chinese Ribs

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup orange marmalade
2 Tbsp. ketchup
1 clove garlic, crushed
3-4 lbs. country style spare ribs

Combine all ingredients except ribs in a sauce pan and heat on medium heat stirring constantly until marmalade has melted and all ingredients are well blended.  Let sauce cool.  Place ribs in gallon sized freezer bag. Pour sauce over ribs in the freezer bag.  Seal and label bag.  Freeze bag flat.

To Make Dinner from the freezer meal:  Thaw the bag in the refridgerator overnight.  Place contents of bag in crockpot and cook on low 6-8 hours or high 4 hours, or you can bake in oven in a baking dish,  375 degrees until done.  Serve with rice.
